so we’re expanding the passenger terminal.
What to expect:
The $100 million terminal expansion will expand the passenger terminal from the current 75,000 square feet to 198,000 square feet. Multiple jet bridges along with additional gates will be added, each gate will have larger waiting areas, and more dining and shopping options will be available. TSA will have a larger space to accommodate increasing passenger volumes, keeping security lines short.
The Flathead Valley ranks in the top three destinations in Montana and our GPIA passenger numbers have doubled in the past decade. Even in the wake of the pandemic, travel numbers recovered at GPIA and returned to its trend of growth, as you can see in the graphic below:
